Throughout this class I have found that I have a lot
in common with my colleagues and the views we share on education, attachment, brain
development and nurturing children. I am looking forward to growing and
learning from them throughout this journey.
Some questions that arise after reading some post are:
·
How can we adequately prepare students for
the future?
·
How can we teach students to be life-long
leaners?
·
What can teachers do to help parents
become more involved into their child’s education?
·
How can we help parents to educate parents
about proper brain development?
Some topics that I would like
to further explore are:
·
Family Cultures
·
Attachment theories
·
Brain development
·
How poverty affects academic achievement
Some additional resources based on my colleagues post

As I continue through my
journey, I hope to keep in contact with my colleagues. Hopefully, we can keep
in contact through email, social media, and phone calls. I know that I may have
classes with the colleagues in this class and I hope to continue to share ideas
and collaborate. I think it is important that in order to be the change we talk
about then we must continue to educate ourselves and others in the educational community.
I think it is important to collaborate and
share ideas and information as much as possible in order to promote our
visions. I think that it is especially important that we create shared language
of learning in our community to educate all those involved in community.

Parent involvement and education is such an important aspect of ECE. This is definitely an area that raises questions and that needs evolving answers. Each family is unique, just like each child, how we support each family will be as unique as they are. Your post this week touches on many important aspects of ECE and I hope we continue to bump into each other in other courses or in our blogs :)

Hi Samantha, I believe we share common goals and interests as we continue the journey to further educate ourselves. I to am excited and interested in learning more about family cultures and attachment theories. This year alone I have encountered many family cultures that have helped me understand the learning process of the child. Some things I have taken for granted simply because I lacked the knowledge. This class has helped me tremendously and I hope that most if not all of us can stay in touch.
